Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 31, 2026
PingPal ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the PingPal mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully. By using PingPal, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information: Name, email address, date of birth, profile photo, bio, and other details you enter when creating or editing your profile.
- Pings and content: Activity posts, messages, kudos, and other content you create or share within the app.
- Identity verification: If you choose to get a Verified Badge, we collect identity documents through our third-party processor (Stripe Identity). We do not store this document data ourselves.
- Communications: Messages you send to us via email or our contact form.

- Usage data: Screens viewed, features used, pings created or joined, and interaction patterns.
- Device information: Device type, operating system, app version, and unique device identifiers.
- Log data: IP address, access times, crash reports, and diagnostic information.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the safety of users, or to enforce our policies.
Data Retention
Your data is retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, pings, and personal data are removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for fraud prevention purposes. Aggregate, anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Residents of California (CCPA) and the European Union (GDPR) have additional rights including data portability and the right to object to certain processing.
To exercise your rights, delete your account in-app or contact us at support@pingpal.co.
Children's Privacy
PingPal is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will delete it promptly.
Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), Firebase security rules, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of PingPal after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
